About MEMO

MEMO – Medieval and Early Modern Material Culture Online is an open access online journal in the field of humanities, dedicated to the study of material culture in a cultural-historical context. Specifically, the journal publishes articles, interviews and other scholarly contributions related to the material culture of the Middle Ages and the Early Modern period in Europe. It is open to contributions from all academic disciplines dealing with material objects and materiality, their significance in historical societies, and the social practices associated with them.

MEMO’s Open Access Policy

MEMO enables authors to publish their work completely free of charge: We do not charge APCs or submission fees. Readers can access and download all articles immediately upon publication for free on the MEMO website. The articles are published according to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
